I’m really going to do it this time…

I started this page several months ago but have yet to make it public. This is our official debut!

I had planned to use the blog to showcase Phillip’s photographs but his new position at Goddard has taken up more of his free time than we had originally predicted. Instead, the site will tell you a bit about our lives with intermittent photograph features.

I hope you enjoy! I’ll try to post every Sunday night so you can all have an excuse to procrastinate on Monday mornings 🙂

Number One – Australia, Sidney Bridge and Opera House, New Years 2006

Cities at night have always amazed me. Getting the chance to be in downtown Sydney to see all of the beautiful lights of the Sydney Bridge and the Opera House both lit up in one shot was amazing! I needed a makeshift tripod to hold the camera steady to get the long exposure required at night, which I found from a bench along the harbor. I had to secure my backpack on the back rest to get the camera at the perfect height. That night, along with this picture, I remember taking some great shots of a local carnival. Can you imagine all the light of the carnival?! Night shots are difficult, but as you can see, worth the trouble.
